We offer a great selection of different tours, from our Estate Walking Tour to our family friendly and always entertaining Train, Tasting & Dessert. We cater to groups of all sizes, offering both Bus Tours Groups and Private Group Tours.

Winery & Estate Tours

Come in a enjoy a relaxing, fun and educational stop by our tasting bar. We always have a selection of award winning wines for all to taste. Our staff are passionate when it comes to helping guest find a wine that fits their palate, and they are always excited to meet new guest as well as keep up to date with regulars. Our selection of wines for you to taste changes on a scheduled timetable. We always offer a minimum of two (2) White wines, two (2) Red wines, two (2) Fruit wines and one (1) Icewine.

The Market – Country Store and Cafe

Eat Safe, Eat Local!

 

Everyone can admit; we all want to know where our food comes from, and if it is safe for us to eat. Therefore, what better place to find fresh product straight from the farmer fields. Please visit your Local Farmers Market if you don't live close to a farm.

Puddicombe Estate has adopted a farm to table approach with all of its catered events serving items grown and picked for the occasion right from the farm or brought in from other local growers within a 100 mile radius of the farm. Puddicombe believes that a farm fresh meal is a very basic yet integral part of maintaining a strong bond with families and friends. We believe this philosophy strengthens our communities and enriches lives. Our meals provide farm to table dishes paired with our own wines and cider. On our walking tour your tour guide will cover the historical information for the farm, about our staff, and a short talk about the wine-making process. Caboose Farm Stay Rentals

Looking for a unique Holiday?! Then come on board the Puddicombe Caboose Farm Stay. Campfire Get Togethers

Bring your friends & family to the estate and enjoy two hours in the afternoon or evening  (6:00pm-8:00pm) for a wine tasting & campfire. We will provide you with a campfire pit, wood, hot dogs, marshmallows, and a warm drink, and a campfire get together wouldn’t be complete without a wagon ride snuggled under your warm blankets.

Mom & Me Days

Every Tuesday & Thursday May-September 30th, 2016. you and your children can enjoy some indoor/outdoor time together.

Event Activities: Train ride, Visit with the animals, play area, snack in the cafe (strudel/muffin & tea/coffee for mom, cookie/fruit & juice for children) and craft.

Old MacPuddi's Dude Ranch Camp

This year, the ranch is offering 2 different week long camp experiences (July 25-29, August 22-26) for girls and boys ages 9 – 13 years. Each “Little Wrangler” is assigned their horse for the week on the ranch.  Our camp program revolves around the horses. The “Little Wranglers” learn Basic horsemanship, Grooming, Saddling, Caring for the horse, Lessons, Daily horse grazing walks, Trail rides

Celebrate the season with our version of the Polar Express!

Children love this Christmas pajama party where Mrs. Clause tells the story written by Chris Van Allsburg while guests enjoy nibbling on cookies and sipping on hot, hot hot- hot chocolate. Children will enjoy a Train ride to the Magical North Pole (or wagon, weather permitting). For more information download the information package.

Educational Based Agricultural Tours

Thank you, for choosing Puddicombe Farms for your Educational Experience. As an alternative to classroom learning your children can participate in the “see” and “do” learning experiences on a 213 + year old farm. Each tour may feature “Lil’ Pudd”, Niagara’s first agricultural train, tractor pulled wagon rides and a free seasonal class gift. Children love learning about the needs of living things, growth, and the importance of agriculture today at Puddicombe Farms.

Rural to Urban

Demonstrates an understanding of the characteristics of rural communities (with respect to land use, transportation, physical features, population, buildings and transportation. Describes the interaction between people and the environment. Wagon ride where students will be asked to identify and document the rural characteristics they observe along the way. The observations will be used in the town and country game. Learn about the Greenbelt - students will learn about why the government built green belt and its direct effect on our communities. Habitats & Communities

Train ride on Lil’ Pudd  throughout the orchards, vineyards, by the irrigation pond and view the Niagara Escarpment (Students will observe by using all 5 senses). Leaders record student observations of all forms of life on the farm while on the train ride. Nature walk to explore different habitats. All students will play various versions for the ‘Food Chain’ game. If you are interested in this program, contact us for more information.

Farm to You

Did you know that cows are responsible for ingredients used in disposable cameras? Corn is needed to produce ethanol, which powers some cars and trucks, a renewable fuel! Students will play games called “Farm to Table” and “Where do our fruits and veggies grow”. Students will also get the change to find out what foods come from each farm product.  If you are interested in this program, contact us for more information.

Tracker Inspector – Winter & Early Spring

You will enjoy a train and/or wagon ride (weather permitting) throughout the orchards, vineyards, by the irrigation pond and view the Niagara Escarpment. Take a nature hike and look for signs of wildlife; identify prints, foods sources, etc. and try to track down the animal. After your hike is finished all will enjoy a marshmallow roast with hot chocolate, and play a couple wildlife games. If you are interested in this program, contact us for more information.

Eco Adventure F.S.I (Farm Scene Investigation)

Eco Fun is a program designed to familiarize children with nature and it’s preservation through interactive activities in the heart of the great outdoors. Train ride on Lil’ Pudd as well as a wagon ride throughout the orchards, vineyards, by the irrigation pond and view the Niagara Escarpment (Students will observe by using all 5 senses). Mini forest hike where children will examine three types of rocks and discover that the Niagara escarpment is primarily made up of sedimentary rock. Investigate different soil samples and identify what plants grow best in each sample. If you are interested in this program, contact us for more information.

 

Buds & Blossoms Family Days - May

You will be able to see the bees in action firsthand as well as the beautiful blossoms on the fruit trees. Take a ride on "Little Pudd" as well as a wagon ride throughout the orchards, vineyards, by the irrigation pond and view the Niagara Escarpment. View and observe beehives and touch various bee keeping equipment. Learn how bees work and all the good they do for the crops. If you are interested download the flyer.

Apple & Pear Harvest – September & October

Train ride on Lil’ Pudd as well as a wagon ride throughout the apple orchards, vineyards, by the irrigation pond and view the Niagara Escarpment fall colours. You will be taken to the pick your own apple or pear orchard and will see firsthand how apples or pears are grown, cared for and harvested. You will be taken to the packing shed and the storage coolers to see how apples are processed for retail. If you are interested in this program, contact us for more information.

Fabulous Pumpkin Excursion – October

Train ride on Lil’ Pudd as well as a wagon ride throughout the orchards, vineyards, by the irrigation pond and view the Niagara Escarpment fall colours and view all the fall crops and pumpkin patch. (Students will observe by using all 5 senses). Take the pumpkin trail to the pumpkin patch and play pumpkin trivia. If you are interested in this program, contact us for more information.

Puddicombe Polar Express

November & December

Train ride on Lil’ Pud as well as a wagon ride throughout the orchards, vineyards, by the irrigation pond and view the Niagara Escarpment (Students will observe by using all 5 senses). Students will play games called “Farm to Table” and “Where do our fruits and veggies grow” to demonstrate how agriculture meets their personal and community’s needs. Students will also get the chance to find out what foods come from each farm product. This will explain how the natural environment effects agriculture to meet society’s needs.
